At the IC XX Settembre school in Catania all classes and sections were involved in one or more of the 52 Code Week events that took place 17 to 23 October 2016. You could almost breathe Code Week! We even organized a flash mob in front of parents and pupils on Friday 21 October.

The activities were unplugged and digital. Everyone made posters or other products to decorate classrooms and halls. Each class watched movies or used CodyRoby, CodyWay, Scratch, ScratchJr, Code.org’s maze, traditional algorithms etc. We used peer-to-peer tutoring and specific strategies.

It’s also worth mentioning that one middle school class worked on projects together with some special needs pupils with the support of special teachers. Furthermore, all the teachers in the school took part in a coding event with Charles Puglisi from CoderDojo Etneo.

From 17 to 21 October the whole school was talking about coding!
