Are you a passionate teacher, willing to develop the community of teachers in order to bring innovation to the classrooms in your area? Are you willing to develop your competences and share best practices? Do you want to actively promote EU Code Week among your fellow teachers and create fun activities all year-round? Do you work in the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Kosovo or Montenegro?

Then you could become one of our Leading teachers and make all of this happen, and even more!

Today there are around 280 EU Code Week Leading teachers in most EU and Western Balkan countries. However, we are still looking for engaged, active and innovative primary and secondary school teachers in the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Kosovo or Montenegro.

Leading teachers are an essential part of the EU Code Week initiative, as they connect schools, teachers and students interested in computational thinking and coding as well as participating in EU Code Week. They may also lead professional development courses, online or face-to-face in their country, and help to disseminate relevant information and learning materials to local teachers.

Have a look at the role description and share it with colleagues willing to join the adventure!

What benefits do I get if I become a Leading teacher?

You will be part of the international EU Code Week community and engage with other active and innovative primary and secondary schools. And, as part of one of the most successful grassroots initiatives in Europe, engaging 2.7 million people in 2018, you will be in contact and collaborate with the EU Code Week Ambassadors and representatives of the education ministry or agency in your country.

In addition, the EU Code Week Team supports Leading teachers by offering training and professional development opportunities. You can also get recognition for your participation in Code Week and training, amongst others through certifications.
