As part of an Erasmus+ Project, a group of eight brave IT teachers from Italy, Portugal, Greece and Germany met in Munich to learn something about the programming of EV3 Lego robots with Java.

Mrs Beate Jost from the Fraunhofer Institute of Germany gave us valuable insights into the pitfalls of object-oriented programming with the robots.

The workshop progressed quickly from the first „Hello world“-program to Braitenberg vehicles and the subsumption programming model that deals with prioritizing robot behaviours.

To sum up, the workshop provided valuable insights that we will use to teach our students and have them code in transnational teams their own robots.
