Preparations for this year’s Code Week are in full swing
Publication date: July 14, 2014
Last week we had a webinar with the EU Code Week Ambassadors. It was impressive to hear all the ideas, learn about preparations and to feel the energy of these volunteers who burn for coding.
Many events are in preparation for Code Week. To give you a taste, how about a pan-European coding session? A gigantic kick-off in the Netherlands involving 2,000 children? A Fashion and Tech Festival in Berlin, which brings together scientists, fashion makers, designers, pattern creators, knitters, textile manipulators, programmers and DIY hardware makers? A competition to design the future classroom in Estonia? Workshops for teachers in France? Robotics experiments? Kid hackatons? Coding workshops for girls? Events at IT universities? Back-to-code programmes that bring IT professionals into schools? Code Week activities for teachers? Maker fairs? Coding competitions? A Young Coders Festival in Austria? CoderDojos and Rails Girls workshops? And many, many other coding workshops of course.
Want to join the fun? Here is a toolkit for you. Don’t forget to contact your local EU Code Week Ambassador if you have further questions. And help us spread the message by sharing our Coding is fun video.
And if you have a story about coding, share it on this blog!
