6th-grade students of Primary School Čavle (Croatia) participated in EU Code Week 2019 with a multidisciplinary activity.

First they created a program to count steps (pedometer) in MakeCode for micro:bit and tested it with their micro:bits. They wore their micro:bit pedometers during Physical education class and documented the number of steps each student made during that class.

During the next Computer Science class they created a program calculating the average number of steps for their group using Python in order to compare results with other groups and see which group was the most active.

Students enjoyed creating applicable programs and they were very active during Physical education class.
